Patrol Commander
Commander Cabral started his career with the Northlake Police Department in 2003 as a Police Officer. During his career, he served as an Evidence Technician, Field Training Officer, Juvenile Officer, Neighborhood Enforcement Team member (gangs/narcotics), and a Hispanic Liaison Officer. As the department’s Hispanic Liaison Officer, Commander Cabral has assisted Northlake’s Hispanic community in many quality-of-life issues over the years. During his career, Commander Lettieri has earned numerous awards, including Officer of the Year (three times).
In 2015, Commander Cabral was promoted to the rank of Patrol Sergeant where he accepted the role of Field Training Program Coordinator one year later. In his current role as Patrol Commander, Commander Cabral oversees the Patrol Division’s daily operations. This includes not only the patrol sergeants and patrol officers (primarily), but the Truck Enforcement Officers as well. Commander Cabral is responsible for the overall quality of service for the division, which includes reviewing/approving reports, establishing traffic enforcement initiatives, scheduling, training of new officers, and (at times) coordinating joint efforts with the Investigations Division.
Commander Arturo Cabral is a graduate of Fenton High School in Bensenville, IL. He attended Lewis University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Social Justice and a Minor in Computer Science. At Lewis University, Arturo Cabral is the school’s only four-time All-American in cross country. In 2019, Commander Cabral graduated from Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command.
The Patrol Commander reports directly to the Deputy Chief of Police.
