Northlake’s Commissions and Boards are composed of residents who help the Mayor and City Council make informed decisions. Some boards provide advice in specific areas, while others have the authority to make binding decisions.
When a vacancy occurs, the city notifies the news media, neighborhood groups, and interested applicants. Applications for board and commission positions are available at City Hall through the Mayor’s office. Each applicant is interviewed by a council committee of three aldermen, who then recommend candidates to the full City Council for approval. The City Council may also invite volunteers to review and provide input on special topics.
For more information on Northlake’s Boards and Commissions, please contact the Mayor’s office at (708) 343-8700 our contact page. Visit the Calendar for upcoming meeting dates, times, and locations.
