Northlake is very proud of our large senior citizen community. The City has a Senior Citizen Commission which meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. We also provide seniors with a grass-cutting and winter snow-removal program. The City will cut grass and remove snow after a 2″ snowfall for a nominal fee. Call City Hall for more information at (708) 343-8700.
Northlake has several Senior Citizen clubs and organizations, including:
- Westdale Senior Citizens Club
- The Live It Up Club
- The Northlake Senior Citizens Commission
- The Senior Center and the Villa Scalabrini
- The Grant Park Senior Citizen Club
For more information about any of the Senior Clubs, contact Northlake City Hall at (708) 343-8700.
Many Senior outings are organized by the Concord Place Retirement Complex and Veterans Park District as well as Northlake’s Senior Citizen Commission. For details on these events, see the monthly Northlake City Newspaper or the Events page.

Grass and Snow Removal
- Snow removal as well as grass cutting is available for senior citizens and disabled homeowners who require assistance in clearing their driveways for snowfalls in excess of 2″ or assistance in cutting grass. There is a fee for this service.
- Applications for both programs are available at City Hall and in the Northlake City Newspaper. You may also print the forms at home: Snow Removal Program or Grass Cutting Form.
- The City Clerk will review and approve all applications.
- The applications for both of these programs need to be filled out annually.
- If you do not have a doctor’s note filed at City Hall, you will need to submit a doctor’s verification note stating why you cannot cut the grass or shovel snow.
- There can be no person living at your residence that is able to do these activities.
- If you have any questions or concerns regarding these programs, please call City Hall at 708-343-8700.
