Investigations Commander

Commander Lettieri started his career with the Northlake Police Department in 2013. During his career, he progressed through the ranks quickly because of his success as a Police Officer, Neighborhood Enforcement Team member (gang/narcotics), and a Patrol Sergeant. During his career, Commander Lettieri has earned numerous awards, including a Life Saving Award and Officer of the Year (twice).

As Investigations Commander, Commander Lettieri oversees Detectives, School Resource Officers, and Drone Pilots. He is also a department leader in the areas of active shooter training and other tactical operations for the department. Commander Lettieri serves as the Sniper Team Leader for the West Suburban Special Response Team (SRT), and he is a graduate of the FBI’s Swat Sniper School.

Commander Lettieri’s mission for the Investigations Division is to provide the best service possible to the citizens of Northlake and victims of crimes by ensuring that all cases are investigated to their fullest extent.

Commander Lettieri graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Education. In 2021, Commander Lettieri graduated from Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command. Brett earned his Master’s degree from the University of San Diego in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership in 2024.

The Investigations Commander reports directly to the Deputy Chief of Police.
