The West Suburban Special Response Team is a multijurisdictional S.W.A.T team comprised of seven law enforcement agencies that serve the Western suburbs of Chicago. The team has thirty active operators that include snipers, drone operators, hostage negotiators, and other specialties. The team responds to critical incidents such as: active shooters, hostage situations, barricaded subjects, acts of terrorism, and high-risk search warrant execution. The Northlake Police Department has six active operators on the team who serve in leadership positions, snipers, drone operators, and shield operator roles.
