Pet Management
The Northlake Police Department now offers residents a free and convenient option to submit information regarding lost and found animals online, through Frontline Public Safety Solutions. If you're a pet owner, it might also be worth considering registering your pet's information and image as well, to ensure they're well protected! Simply click on the link below, click on pet management, click the submit button, and then enter your pets information into Frontline PSS. Residents may still be able to come into the police station lobby, or call the station, regarding only dogs that were lost/ found in Northlake, in lieu of submitting the information electronically.
Found Animal(s)
When a found animal is turned over to the Northlake Police Department, it is brought into the station kennel, which is only equipped for a short temporary stay. The officer will check the animal for any tags and then scan the animal with our microchip reader to locate any owner information. If the owner’s information is found, we will contact the owner and arrange for an immediate pick-up. If no owner information is located, we will then transport the animal to the Oak Park Animal Care League, who is better equipped for longer stays with the proper food and shelter for the animals. An image and brief description of any unclaimed animal(s) will also be posted on the Northlake Police Department’s Facebook page.
Note: The City of Northlake does not accept any stray cats found, nor handle wildlife complaints, unless they are actively in danger and/or pose a threat to the public.
